Etextbooks From Oprah And Beyond

Many folks, Oprah being one of them, are talking about digital readers these days. This year starts off the new surge in ebook textbooks, a trend that will only be rising.

We all know of the dazzling array of features of Amazons newest e textbook reader the Kindle DX. The DX is aimed straight at the e textbook market. The display of the DX is just right for enjoying e textbooks.

With native PDF support and the capability to browse charts and graphs with a mechanically adjusting screen the DX is well matched for reading etextbooks.

This autumn Amazon is sponsoring a test program to pilot the DX and e textbooks at the campuses of 6 colleges. They are giving out about 50 Kindle DX's at each school and then getting tips to enhance the pilot program.

Also the selection of Kindle e textbooks is rather wide-ranging, and I'm sure the test program participants, won't be the only students using the Kindle DX on school.

This is just the beginning and I think the time of the etextbook has come.
